Did you ever wonder?


Why sometimes we just can’t stop ourselves doing things we tell ourselves we do not want to do!

Why we so often find a reason or an excuse to stop ourselves from getting on with life…perhaps blaming an event. ! A person ! allowing ourselves to remain ’stuck’ in an unhappy relationship, an unsatisfactory job!

Why we sometimes give up on something without  really making an effort or choosing not to even try because it is ‘too difficult’, I would probably fail!, or ‘what’s the point’!

Why we sometimes fear something when there’s no real reason to do so!

Why some situations ‘trigger’ uncomfortable feelings, even though we have no idea why!

Or perhaps we do know why they make us uncomfortable but don’t know how to change!


BWRT® (Brain Working Recursive Therapy)


What is it?


BWRT® stands for Brain Working Recursive Therapy®, it is a new model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI, It’s a totally confidential method that does not require you to reveal your private information or personal secrets to your therapist, and is carried out in a completely conscious state. It doesn’t use hypnosis or any mystical concepts – it is completely logical, practical and down-to-earth and only needs you to know what you want to change in your life for it to be completely successful.

BWRT® gets its name from the way the brain works, in its ability to be continually reassessing the environment and making adjustments as necessary, BWRT® releases trapped emotional issues like the methodologies of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy  however it benefits from working on a principle of being nearly 90% content free. All that is necessary for a successful outcome is for the client to ‘know what it is they want to change’..and how they ‘would prefer to feel,or behave’

This exciting therapy is a completely conscious therapy (no trance work as you would find in hypnotherapy). This works brilliantly for those who would love to experience the benefits of hypnotherapy type treatments but are held back and resistant because the concept of a trance and relaxation does not suit them. The BWRT ® treatment is highly effective and fast! In fact it can take just 1 session to assist with lifelong phobias etc. Some issues such as stress/anxiety make require 2 or more sessions but this would be discussed at the initial assessment consultation.Its ability to be able to cut off the old emotional responses to issues allows you to feel back in control and at peace having developed your own chosen ‘new’ response to the area in your life you wish to change.


How does it work?


The principle of the therapy is that you can take the bad habit or emotional reaction you have to an issue and replace it with a preferred outcome. What few people realize is that when faced with a situation your mind/brain has already made a decision about how to react BEFORE you have a chance to consciously intervene .

In simple terms we do not have ‘free will’– which is why you’ll find yourself repeatedly getting frustrated with a situation and thinking ‘why did I do that?” after you did it! The mind/brain constantly ‘pattern matches’..so the more often we do something the more likely that the brain/mind will match with that pattern.


BWRT® doesn’t use hypnosis or anything that might be considered to be mystical – it is a science-based, totally grounded methodology that deals with uncomfortable emotional or psychological triggers before you are even aware of them. Whilst many therapies work on the response after it has been generated with BWRT® the problem is dealt with ‘at source’, before it even gets to the conscious mind. Which leaves you feeling better and reacting in a way that feels more appropriate.


What happens in a treatment session?


During a BWRT® session YOU are totally responsible for changing your response to your issues .As a certified BWRT®  therapist I act as a catalyst to creating new neural pathways to bypass your old responses. As long as you have the ability to visualize images and recall memories   I will guide and support you through the steps and you will be astounded by the results of this treatment.

So for example, if you experience social anxiety when visiting new places, you can replace this with the calmness you normally have in familiar places and remove the old response The main point to remember is that you cannot replace your unwanted response with an implausible response (e.g. you are not able to change your personality or have an outcome that is incongruent with you as a person

During a session of BWRT®, I will ask you a few questions about your background and what has brought you to see me – but you will not be asked to reveal any secrets or intimate details about your life. This is a totally private therapy in which you only have to be able to tell the practitioner how you feel and how you would like to feel/behave instead.
